Vacant Properties

Postby cozmo on Mon May 12, 2014 8:28 am

It's really sad driving on Rte.38 and seeing all the vacant land and storefronts and then seeing more storefronts recently built that are also vacant. I just wonder if anything is being done about this problem as it just seems to be getting worse. I have lived in Tewksbury for many years and have never seen Rte. 38 looking this bad, seems like we are going backwards!

I dont mind the vacant properties as much as the 'abandoned places' like the batting cages...that i have been hearing about clearing that area for 10 yrs!!

What about that greenhouse business across the street from the high school? It's falling in and is a hazard. When is the town going to do something about that?

I find it strange that some of our neighboring towns are running short of land and
we seems to have problem attracting businesses here.
I think we should hire an independent professional agency to find whats broken.

Just to get an idea, drive from Rt 3A to Blanchard Rd and then to the Muller road in Burlington and you would see what a
development (both commercial and residential) looks like.
I inquired at one housing construction site and they told me houses going for 700 - 900 K.
