For your town, show-up and vote your conscious!

Fight Article 36! Don't let them use the absurd Community Village Overlay District to build condos way out on Astle St!

Hi, it is on Wednesday night. All of the zoning articles have been grouped together. It is at 7:30PM at the high school.
You can read the article on the town website.

May 1, 2017 Annual Town Meeting Warrant

May 3, 2017 Special Town Meeting Warrant

You can also ask to have it mailed to you next time around. Just call town hall.

Just an FYI to add to that.... I believe the Planning Board recommended Indefinite Postponement on that one.

I heard about the Astle St. rezoning article being moved to Wednesday's STM shortly after making this thread. And FriendOfTheTown, I don't need warrants to be mailed to me -- but after last night's absurd elderly vote that doesn't matter anymore, does it? Also I have not heard anything about the Planning Board and indefinite postponement but that would be great.

new selectman Jay Kelly said people of Tewksbury are hurting. seniors said that they can't take one more dime in taxes. Then they voted for $20,000 to have the warrant mailed to their homes which has not been done since 2010. Town business still got done without it a new high school and voting against a casino
The whole school committee who is going to pick your pocket for new schools voted for this wasteful measure. they don't want a new DPW and said why not fix it to that I say then fix the schools and leave the tax payers alone. no fiscal responsibility from the selectmen either which is sad they just want to be liked they don't care about your wallet but the finance committee seems to have a BRAIN and most voted against this. you paid 850 thousand for new bleachers and the fire station did pass and some pond and open trail stuff and a bunch of new pickup trucks If you are against development in STUPID places you should go and vote against the Astle street thing

The whole system is a mess, truly. It's gonna take a massive Taxpayer uprising to turn it around and quite frankly I don't see it happening. Many articles are nothing more than special interests. How the hell does an article like # 23 even make it to a vote?

$300,000 of Taxpayer money being used to "preserve" the State Hospital Cemetery? The land is owned by the STATE Taxpayers, not the Town Taxpayers. Why is it the Taxpayers of Tewksburys business to "preserve" an old grave yard ON PRIVATE PROPERTY!!

Who thought it was a good idea to give away scarce CPA funds to NON OWNED Tewksbury land?

Town Meeting is nothing more than a place for the few to rig the system.
Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
