From what I've heard Mrs. McDermott is the new part time Kindergarten teacher. She will also be the Extended Day Kindergarten Teacher as well. She has done the morning program for the Trahan and Ex-Day K for the Heathbrook.

It depends on what day your child goes to school. If they are a Mpm-W-F then orientation is on Wednesday if they are a Mam-T-R then it is on Thursday.

No but we didn't last year either. Each teacher is different. Some send them some don't.

I was told that is the only school with a night before school open house to meet the teachers so some feel they don't need to send letters, their students get to meet them in person before the first day of school which is better than a hello letter.

I think it pretty sad you have to go to the school to see what teacher your child has. I think a letter should of been sent out to tell us who the teacher is. I think it great that the kids get to meet the teacher the night before but still a letter stating what teacher would be nice.

This was the first year that I can remember (in 7 years) that the teacher's name didn't appear on the report card. There was no way to tell who was doing what job at the time. I would rather take a trip there then send out letters to every parent. The new principal probably has enough to do.

Just a look back - I know I am dating myself - but - when I was in school you never got any kind of letter from your teacher before school started.......

yeah we never got letters when we were in elementary school and for jr hs and hs we had to go down to the school the day before and look at the huge list taped to the wall and see who you had for homeroom and you found out the rest of your teachers when you got there on the first day, same thing with supplies, not advanced lists were given out. These kids today have it a lot easier than we did.

no - we never got a letter for our teacher but we did find out who our teacher was on our report card. since they didn't know who the teachers were this year because of the budget they should of at least sent out a letter to the parents to find out the childs teacher.

Do secretaries work in the summer? Maybe that's why the school didn't send letters. Just a thought. Also, with the additional classes added I wouldn't want to tell my child "oops, your teacher just changed". I think that would have happened to first and third graders this year because the decision to add classes was just made recently.
