Can't understand why businesses continue to invest in Wilmington who has the highest commercial taxes, water issues and a limited sewerage program due capacity issues. We've pumped and pumping in millions in our towns infra structure, spend much more in public safety and DPW and all we attract is more housing complexes. Can't understand why Tewksbury isn't more attractive to

I think that one reason is because they have four exits off of Rt. 93.

NIMBYism isn't as rampant in Wilmington as it is here.

On Salem Rd. alone they have two huge apartment complexes and a third going up. Those are in someone's back yard.

I meant NIMBYism for commercial development. I didn't mean apartments and 40b. With the ramp being built in South Tewksbury, that area is ripe for development like an office park or a biotech center. It won't happen due to NIMBYism, BANANAism and CAVE peope.

I agree with you 100%. If I am elected to the board of selectman I will make every effort to facilitate commercial development in that area of Tewksbury. Which is EXACTLY what this town needs ASAP.

Again with the ramp coming we should try to court a biotech firm. Biotech is the wave of the future and it will bring many skilled workers to Tewksbury. They will pay taxes and improve our town. Plus a biotech firm would fit in with the companies already in Andover.

I haven't seen any Nimby's against commercial development IF a ramp is built.

I know many people that knew the Mills scam to be a pipe dream and a complete loss of revenue for the town.

I'm sure many people would get behind the right project.

Dave, the ramp is at least 6-8 years away from even coming close to being built. It is a loooong way off. The town needs a future plan implemented quite a bit sooner that that.

Not necessarily. One poster was basically railing against the ramp, saying he didn't want high-paying jobs to come to that area. He claims it will force people out and ruin the town. That is what I call a CAVE person.

Here is another exerpt from it

All the new growth will just add to the commercial and residential base and drive up taxes.

red...I know the exact post you're referring to and based on the poster I would definitely say it was sarcasm and said in jest.

Please name all the development that have been stopped due to Nimby's in Tewksbury!

Know I asked somewhere else before but what is the ramp that is being built now? Is that another Wilmington on ramp? It's not 125 but after it a bit and it looks nearly done.

As for Commercial buildings, Ames Pond has been nearly vacant for how long now since Met Life moved out? We need someone who can stretch a dollar...those we have while looking for future ones.

joan f arc...

Do you mean after the 125 ramp? If so that ramp has been almost 20 years in the making...to ease the crunch of the 125 back up in that area.
