Wellfields/Emerald Court Deal Finalized

Discussions for the former well water fields and why we're selling them when we're buying water from Andover?

Re Globe article in the "Community Briefings" section of the Northwest Weekly, 07/11/02:

"Company Affiliate Takes on Project"

After purchasing a 68-acre site from the town for $2.95 million in June, L.J. DiPalma Inc. sold the property to its affiliate, Stonewood, L.L.C., according to Maureen DiPalma, who is president of the first company, and manager of the second. Stonewood will oversee the construction of the 276-unit senior care campus that DiPalma estimates will take three to five years to complete.

L: It is behind and next to Archstone-off Main St., in the Washington St. area. It has already been approved by the town boards, but was appealed by the neighbors. They negotiated, and the deal is done. More details here in this forum.

They negotiated?!!? Well, I'm sickened! I was wondering why this seemed so off particularly timewise. They negotiated will be part of all that was good in Tewksbury's epitaph.

On the town TV Channel 10 there is an advertisement for Emerald Court Open House.

How can a private company advertise on a government access channel?

Now isn't THAT something! Our town citizenry can't even get that other access channel that cable users seem to already be paying for yet the PTB can be advertising THIS privately owned garbage on Ch.10 ? The pimp-master's at it again! Give me a break!

Do you think Emerald Court paid the town for the ad?
I do not think so.

Can anyone tell me why it is that every winter season the town (or rather the town tax payers) pay for Emerald Court to be plowed and sanded with taxpayer's money?
Shouldn't Emerald Court be paying for their own contractor to do this? According to the Planning Board when it was passed that was one of the requirements.

I believe that it is paid for through the condo association at Emerald Court.. It has nothing to do with the town.

Current planning board member Fowler and other former leaders live there. Fowler voted on this meanwhile he was waiting to buy his retirement home there.

Great town we live in.
