TEWKSBURY -- The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has slapped a $149,010 fine on the developer of 364-unit The Lodge at Ames Pond for its repeated wetlands violations, MassDEP announced today.

Houston-based Hanover Company was cited by MassDEP for its "clear pattern of noncompliance," ignoring the Orders of Condition that the town's Conservation Commission issued to approve the project.

Its settlement agreement with MassDEP call for the company to stabilize the site, submit a plan to restore the damaged area, and pay $112,005 for the penalty. The remaining $37,005 could be suspended if the company is in compliance after five years.
